Nico MuhlyCelebrated musician to lecture
In early 2007, CSU's Carson McCullers Center for Writers and Musicians selected Nico Muhly, right, to be the 2008 Carson McCullers Resident Composer in Percussion. Since then, Muhly has exploded on the arts scene,a Smithsonian profile followed by a 10-page tribute in the Feb. 11 issue of The New Yorker. Plan now to catch Muhly during his late March CSU appearances.



CSU Day logoSign of the times: Strong community support for our university
CSU's annual CSU Day campaign is going strong, with $45,600 given toward an $80,000 goal as of Feb. 27. Ninety-plus volunteers are calling over 2,000 local businesses to thank supporters and boost CSU's Annual Fund. CSU Day yard signs will be delivered the week of March 27, which is CSU Day. Career ExpoAnnual Careers Expo open to public as well as students

CSU's Career Center is reminding us its annual Careers Expo on March 19 is open to the public, including alumni and friends. Employers from private companies, state and federal agencies, school districts, non-profit organizations and more will gather in the Lumpkin Center for one of the area's largest, longest-running career fairs. Dress professionally and bring lots of resumes. more >


Enriching Lives book coverReserve your copy of CSU's new pictorial history book
One special treat related to CSU's 50th anniversary celebration that will keep on giving for years is the new 128-page book, Enriching Lives: A Pictorial History of Columbus State University, by CSU archivist Reagan Grimsley. The $29.95 book is scheduled to be released in time for the Open House-Homecoming weekend. If you can't make it to Columbus, you can pre-order the book, filled with more than 180 photos, by visiting the CSU Bookstore's homepage. A $3 discount is available through homecoming weekend.
