A baseball doubleheader will be part of CSU's 50th Anniversary Open House-Homecoming April 4-5, but there's also much more action on tap. You can swing along with the Swingin' Medallions, catch fireworks after the Friday night concert, catch up with old friends and profs before Saturday's games and step up to help consume a 50-foot scrambled dog. Thomas B. Buck Jr.
Founding CSU Foundation board member dies at age 91
CSU lost a close friend this week with the passing of Thomas B. Buck Jr., a founding trustee of the CSU Foundation who was still serving at the time of his death. Beyond a wide range of business interests, Buck's legacy will live on in a CSU scholarship, also bearing his name. Remaining on the Foundation board is Buck's son, Tom Buck III, a former state legislator.      more >

Women's basketball coach to also take on AD responsibilities 
CSU's Athletics Department is preparing for major changes as Athletic Director Herbert Greene, former longtime men's basketball coach, moves into a fund-raising role, en route to retirement in 2009. That ensures a smooth transition as Assistant Athletic Director Jay Sparks, also CSU's women's basketball coach, moves into the AD role while continuing to coach.     more >

CSU's annual CSU Day campaign wrapped up with the day itself last Thursday, but volunteers are still ready to deliver a yard sign to supporters we missed. Needless to say, we appreciate all who gave. helping us surpass our CSU Day goal of $80,000. It all goes into our Annual Fund for scholarships and other needs. Enriching Lives book coverTwo important updates from last month ...
The new book, Enriching Lives: A Pictorial History of Columbus State University, is now at the CSU Bookstore. The $29.95, 128-page book will be on sale during the 50th Anniversary Open House-Homecoming, when author Reagan Grimsley signs copies. You can also buy it online.
