Teams' strong spring helps CSU win conference honors
CSU’s baseball, softball and golf teams each finished their spring seasons in NCAA Division II championship rounds, capping a year of successes that led to the athletic department’s second consecutive award for best overall performance by a Peach Belt Conference school.     more >

Freshman Convocation bringing back a familiar face in August
A former CSU staffer and 2003 alum, Mary Hill Johnson, right, has been asked to talk to new students at Freshman Convocation on Aug. 19 about how to make their academic years ahead productive. Johnson, now a doctoral student at UGA, says she will ask students to think about how they want to grow as a person and about how to develop relationships that will contribute to that personal growth.      more >

CSU faculty offer a Pretty Good Essay — on national radio
It started with a 2006 discussion about The South, among current and former CSU faculty, and others, with Prairie Home Companion host Garrison Keillor. And it led to an impromptu 2007 invitation for faculty Virginia Causey and Cathy Fussell (plus Fussell's folklorist husband, Fred) to offer an on-air essay about all things Southern. The Fussells' son, Jake, a former CSU student, also performed on guitar and sang during PHC's April visit to Columbus.     more >
